Position Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for managing a team of Business Development Representatives and driving the growth of our sales pipeline. This role requires strong sales acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and managing within the data management/observability sector.


We’re looking for someone who can:
  • Lead and manage a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs), providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure the achievement of sales targets and objectives.

  • Develop and implement business development strategies and processes to generate sales accepted Leads and Opportunities for the sales team.

  • Collaborate with the GTM team to optimize lead-generation campaigns. Seamlessly handoff off leads from marketing to sales, align the BDR team to sales strategies and revenue goals and ensure the BDR team is enabled for continuous success.

  • Set clear expectations and provide ongoing training and development to the BDR team to enhance their skill set, product knowledge, and understanding of the data industry and TAM.

  • Effectively communicate with the BDR team to cultivate a sales culture that keeps BDRs hungry and excited, keeping attrition low.

  • Monitor and analyze key sales metrics, including conversion rates, pipeline growth, and revenue generated, and take proactive measures to improve team performance.

  • Implement effective lead qualification criteria and ensure the BDR team is engaging with prospects in a consultative and value-driven manner.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations, to optimize sales processes and enhance the customer experience.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to provide strategic insights and recommendations.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting continuous learning, innovation, and a customer-centric mindset.


What makes you the right fit for this position?
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • Proven track record of success in sales development or a similar role, with experience managing a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs).

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the data market, trends, and competitive landscape.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing business development team.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies and processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and improve team performance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish effective relationships with BDR Team, internal teams, executives, and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools to manage and track sales activities.

  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.


Hiring Range

The hiring pay range provides a guide for what we would reasonably pay for the position. Pay is determined by various factors including market demand, applicable skills, work experience and education, location, company budget, and in-demand skill sets.


On Target Earnings: $180,000 - $220,000 USD
